Christmas Cracker of a Showcase!

Thursday 14 December saw Holderness Academy hold their Christmas Music Showcase. With over 50 students performing in 22 different performances, the cold frosty weather did not deter an eclectic audience made up of family, friends and music fans alike.

People were treated to  Solo performances on Marimba, Violin, Flute and Piano, Rock bands, incredible vocal performances, the Holderness Academy 'Cello and Double Bass group, the Holderness Academy String Ensemble, and a final mass performance involving all students.

Mr Sleight, Assistant Head of Creative and Expressive Arts, said "Students worked so hard on all of their performances and it paid off. The atmosphere was brilliant!!! Especially in the coming together of over 50 students for an epic finale with Clean Bandit's Symphony."

Emma (Year 9) who gave a festive performance of 'Let it Snow' said “I enjoyed this year’s showcase, it really helped with my confidence a lot."

Luke (Year 9) who gave a solo piano performance of 'Let the Last Leaf Fall' said “I thought the showcase was very fun, and it helped me overcome my fear of big audiences.”

After a wonderfully entertaining and heart warming evening of exceptional talent, the show finale saw all performers and artists take to the stage to end with their uplifting rendition ‘Symphony’ – It was an evening that certainly had the X factor!
