Huge congratulations to the Year 8 boys’ footballers who advance into the East Riding seven-a-side finals after advancing through the group stages with a 2nd place finish tonight. The boys were unbeaten in five out of their six fixtures with wins over Beverley Longcroft and Driffeld School. After drawing their first three fixtures, the boys came alive with two games to go. They recorded 1–0 wins with goals coming from the outstanding Will D and Joe W. The boys played some fantastic attacking football and worked their socks off in defence to advance into the finals after Christmas.

The Year 8 boys football team bowed out of the East Riding Cup against a very good Hessle High team. The boys gave 100 per cent effort and competed right up until full-time. Special mention to George P, who was outstanding at left-back on his debut for Holderness Academy.

The Year 9/10 girls football team’s run in the Schools Football Cup sadly ended with a 4-2 defeat to St Mary’s. The girls had played excellently en route to the third round. Goalscorers were Grace B and Hallie H #TeamHolderness
