Attendance initiative boosts mental health charity.

Three pupils from Holderness Academy have donated their award winnings for good attendance to the mental health charity Mind.

Marie-Louise Robinson, community fundraiser at Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, said: “We are delighted to have been given a donation from Holderness Academy, especially as our local mental health charity was voted for by the students. All donations we receive help us to be there for more people experiencing poor mental health, to give support, offer hope and change lives. One in four of us will struggle with our mental health every year, so we are always grateful for the support we receive from our local community.”

Paula Jennings, Holderness Academy Attendance and Welfare manager, said: “The new initiative has really helped students develop a sense of community and teamwork while improving attendance and raising valuable funds and awareness for a charity that works closely with the school.”

Well done to our Holderness Learners!
