Holderness Learners Mark Remembrance Day

In addition to wearing poppies and marking the two minutes silence, Holderness Learners supported Remembrance Day in a number of other ways this year for the first time.

On Friday 8 November the hall was set for the Remembrance Service. Students, staff and families of the Holderness Community all contributed to poppies that made the hugely impressive poppy cascade. All of Year 7 congregated in the hall, alongside staff and governors, to remember. The service was led by Rev. Pulko. Other contributions included readings from our Sixth Form students and singing from the Holderness Singers. The service ended with the Last Post being played by Finlay in Year 8 - a very proud moment for us all.

On Sunday the 10 November students from Holderness Academy joined the parade in Hedon, read in church and had the honour of laying wreaths. We felt proud to mark our respect within our community.
