At Holderness Academy & Sixth Form College we aim to provide careers information which is impartial and develops both the knowledge of students and their parents about the possible education, training and careers opportunities that are available and how to pursue them. We recognise students have different career guidance needs at different stages, and we have tailored our careers provision to ensure that all students receive the best guidance and support, so they can make informed decisions and plan for their future careers.
In Years 7-11 students learn about the world of work and the various routes and options that are available to them through careers lessons that are delivered with the ARRK programme and, also, through careers focused drop-down mornings. Students can also access individual careers interviews that are conducted by GP Careers.
In order to give our students the opportunities to learn about work, employment and the skills that are needed to succeed in the workplace, we work effectively in partnership with other educational establishments, employers and external providers. This is done through a range of enrichment activities including: careers fairs, external visits, guest speakers and work experience opportunities. We are pleased to be currently supported by the Careers & Enterprise Company and delighted to be partnered with Cranswick PLC as our Enterprise Advisor. Through this partnership we are aiming to develop more opportunities for our students to develop their employability skills. In addition to our Cranswick partnership, we also work alongside Tigers Trust, delivering a range of opportunities and interventions on a weekly basis.

Career Information and Guidance Platform
At Holderness Academy, we use a range of online platforms to ensure that our students have access to the most up-to-date career and labour market information.
Logonmoveon is a careers portal that brings together all local education, training and apprenticeship opportunities in one place. Students can use the portal to research, plan and apply for education and training opportunities. In addition to this, the portal contains lots of useful labour market information, careers resources and information to support your journey towards post 16 and post 18 options.
Unifrog is an online platform that allows students to explore different career, post-16 and post-18 option course and apprenticeship options. Unifrog brings all the available information into one single, impartial, user-friendly platform that helps students to make the best choices and submit the strongest applications.
