Mellors are award winning Contract Caterers. A family business which caters for over 240 schools in the north of England. All meals are made onsite, from scratch daily. Our school counters are packed full of choice and we encourage all of our students to eat a rainbow of fruit and vegetables. At Mellors, not only do we want to provide your child with a nutritious meal, we want them to have fun! Whether its National baking week or Best of British, we will run themes to bring something new to the table for your child to try. Beyond the dining room, Mellors Development Chefs offer classes to teach children the basics of cooking. Danielle, Head of Nutrition and Food Development, delivers assemblies in schools on the importance of making healthy choices. She’ll even get them on the smoothie bike to whizz up some drinks for the class. We also have the Mellors Big Red Bus that can visit our schools to provide a truly unique dining experience!

Is your child eligible for free school meals?
We encourage parents and carers to apply for free school meals as we know that this both saves parents money and encourages students to eat healthy food.
Some parents may be reluctant to apply because they are concerned about any stigma attached to students receiving free school meals. However, because this system is automatic, students are not personally identified as receiving a free school meal and as such anonymity is ensured.
