BTEC Level 3 Travel and Tourism

The Travel and Tourism industry continues to grow rapidly. It is a dynamic and exciting industry that has generated many different employment opportunities such as airlines and tour operators. You will follow a vocational and relevant curriculum that links content knowledge to practical approaches. You will develop knowledge and skills crucial to the industry.

Specific requirements

Students following this course will need to be very interested in the travel and tourism industry with a view to further enhancing their qualifications at higher education and/or pursuing a career in the industry.

Assessment

The course is assessed through written exams, coursework assignments and controlled assessments. You will have one exam and one piece of coursework in Year 12, with a further piece of coursework and a controlled assessment in Year 13. Each year is worth 50% of the total qualification.

Where does it lead?

Previous successful students have progressed on to study travel, tourism management, events management and Business related courses at a variety of universities. Some students are now working for airports, airlines or travel providers.
